Over the last 2 weeks I launched a new AI based $1 product, validated it, and then started ads to it on Friday - ads which are currently running at a 1.4 ROAS.
I’m helping everyone in GM+ build the same sort of thing for their business throughout August and you can join us for that here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dciKLc_mQUY3vd6NlFihu18ahr1PvfZav2KHQB1MEd4/edit?usp=sharing
I wanted to break down the stats and process I used for the above with some behind the scenes info for you.
Creating the Custom GPT
If you have existing assets, crafting a Custom GPT is super simple.
Look for things like templates or very formulaic systems. Something that would be the same for most of your customers, but takes them time to achieve.
This kind of stuff is great to build a Custom GPT around.
You can use the same material you would give to a customer to help train the GPT. I’m doing a full call on this later today in GM+.
Building the offer stack
You need to have complementary offers in there that rsaise the AoV so you can run ads.
If you have systems and templates already to create the GPT, you can likely just repurpose them as bumps and upsells.
I added the actual $1 product challenge course as a bump as it help customers actually get the results faster.
And that’s the kley with bumps and upsells.
How can you help them achieve the result faster, easier, or cheaper.
Build this into a simple upsell funnel and you’ve got a decent funnwl right off the bat.
My funnel was…
- The $1 product funnel builder AI - $1
- The $1 product challenge. + rapid launch kit - $47
- GM+ community - $99 / month
- 1:1 consultation - $100
Total order value potential of around $250.
Validate the product
I prefer to validate with a cold audience, but I initially launched this in July to my list.
That initial promo generated 11 sales.
I like to aim for 10 sales for proper validation of a new product.
With 10 sales, you know the front end will sell and you start to get an idea if the bumop and upsells are well aligned enough to actually drive a profit.
Scale with ads
Once the product and funnel is validated, you want to scale it with ads.
I set up a simple 2-step ad campaign on Friday afternoon.
Cold audience targeting people who have relevant interests to the offer.
Warm audience of people who have engaged with my content/ads.
I also increased the price of the front end to $7 - mainly to help cover ad costs.
The results
So the ads have been running over the weekend and here’s the results.
ROAS of 1.41 - which means $1.41 made for every $1 spent.
I’m paying around $29 for a purchase (CPA) and getting an average of $42 back per customer (AoV).
These are still early days, but the numbers are good. I’ve only spent £120 on this as it was launched with a £40 / day spend.
But I’ve made back £168.
And the CTR from the ads is over 6% which is insanely high in my experience.
Want to set this up for yourself?
I’m helping everyone in GM+ set up the same kind of funnel for themselves throughout August.
We’ll be doing everything from the build of the product and funnel, to crafting marketing assets, to setting up profitable ads.
