Sales are down.
Costs are up.
Growth is stagnating.
I’ve been seeing it in my own offers over the last few months.
So I reached out to some other business owners... and yep, same story.
We’re not entirely sure if it’s the economy, or if AI has just made clients more hesitant to hire agencies, coaches, or spend on courses.
But the trend is clear: metrics are heading the wrong way.
And for some… it’s getting ugly.
Now’s the time to make changes if you want to survive this downturn.
I don’t have the answer (no one does). But I do have a plan, and I want to share some of the thinking behind it.
One of the big drivers is this:
Old models just don’t work like they used to.
Most info and service businesses have been running the same funnel for years:
Ads → Free Lead Magnet → Nurture → Sales Push
That’s becoming less and less sustainable.
I know people who are straight up losing money with this. Not even breaking even.
Part of it is rising ad costs.
Part of it is people being more resistant to spending. When you;re paying for freebie leads who have no intention of buying, it's completely unsustainable.
Brands that lead with low-ticket offers (like I teach in the $1 Product Challenge) are weathering it better.
They recoup ad spend faster. Even if backend sales are down, they’re growing a list of buyers... not freebie hunters.
That gives them more chances to drive revenue later.
But this brings us to the second issue...
The offers themselves are getting weaker.
Why would I pay $27 for a template or system I have to spend 4 hours figuring out, when ChatGPT can spit out a rough draft in 30 seconds?
It just doesn’t make sense.
Even worse: the “teach you how to solve the problem” offers are dying.
That old saying...
"Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime."
...doesn’t really apply anymore.
People don’t want to learn to fish.
They just want to buy a fillet of cod, ready to go.
No one wants to learn how to write a great sales page.
They want it done, fast... ideally by AI.
Immediacy and ease are the new baseline.
If you keep selling info and then trying to upsell help, you’re going to struggle.
You could try to swim against the AI tide with the “boutique human touch” angle…
But I think that’s a losing game.
Instead, there’s a massive opportunity to ride the AI wave... especially for course creators, service providers, and expert-led businesses.
And if you get it right, it could be the start of a $1M/year solo business.
Here’s the core idea:
Use AI to productise your expertise.
Create an AI trained on your systems, knowledge, and experience.
Then sell access to it for say $100/month.
Your audience gets your brain, on demand.
They can get your advice, your frameworks, your thinking…
→ In minutes, not days
→ On their timeline
And if they need deeper help?
You’re still there as the expert they can call on.
I’m coming around to the belief that most low-ticket offers have a shelf life.
The real winners won’t just be using AI to look smart online.
They’ll be the ones packaging their real expertise into instant-access tools people can use immediately... to get real results.
Anyway, that brings me to my ask.
I'm trying to build cusrtom AI Agents that will basically offer the same kind of advice and asset production I would were you to hire me.
You get the same kind of advice in seconds rather than waiting days to speak.
And when you know the problem, you can ask "pete's AI brain" to churn out the asset to test the growth hypothesis.
The initial testing inside GM+ is helping me refine the model.
But, I want to give more people access to the test.
If you're up for helping me test these as I build them, hit reply and let me know.
I'll give you access to whatever I'm building (right now it's the funnel analysis and ACCER model advisor), you test it, let me know if it's helped and how I can improve it.
You basically get free consults and access to me in return for maybe 10 minutes of your time.
If you want in, hit reply and let me know.
Speak soon,
Pete "AI first?" Boyle
