Plan it, *then* do it

"Once you've got a task to do, it's better to do it than live with the fear of it."

That’s a quote from one of my favorite novels, and it’s been my approach to life since I was a young'un.

If something needs doing, you might as well get it done now and save future-you from the fallout of inaction.

But here’s the thing.

As much as this mindset has helped me, I’ve realized that a bias for action can sometimes backfire—especially as an entrepreneur.

It’s not enough to just do something. Growth doesn’t come from any action.

It comes from the right action.

Over the past few years, I’ve been terrible at focusing my actions on one clear, specific goal.

Instead, if something catches my interest—whether it seems like it might help with growth or it’s just something I want to try—I’ll drop everything and dive in.

Here are a few things I’ve tried this past year alone:

  • Writing a novel using AI and marketing it on Amazon (I did hit the bestseller spot, so… worth it?)
  • Testing whether selling a $1 product works better than using a free lead magnet (spoiler: I made $4,000+ in 10 days, so, yeah, it worked).
  • Building a community to help others with their growth experiments (this one’s steadily growing and feels like home).

Technically, each of these was a success.

But the level of success each achieved was a fraction of what I could have accomplished if all that effort had been focused on a single goal.

So, I’ve decided it’s time to change.

I’m cutting out distractions and pouring all my energy into growing the GM+ Community.

How am I going to do it?

With a detailed plan. One that maps out what I want to achieve, why it matters, and the best path to get there.

And here’s the best part: I’m not doing it alone.

Over the last two weeks, GM+ members have been helping me craft a yearly planning template that we can all use to set and achieve our goals. It’s designed to:

  1. Understand where you are right now.
  2. Get clear on where you want to be.
  3. Map out the most effective path to get there.
  4. Stay committed and consistent, with community support and accountability to back you up.

This will be the focus in January for GM+: aligning on goals, building plans, and staying on track throughout 2025.

I’ll have everything ready for January 1st so we can all hit the ground running.

If you want the support, the tools, and the community to make 2025 your best year yet, now’s the time to join.

Click here for all the details about GM+ and to join us before January.

Let’s plan it, then do it.

Pete "Plan It, Then Do It" Boyle

P.S. Thanks to some advice I’ve received on the community, I’m increasing the price significantly in January.

If you join before then, you’ll be locked in at the current price. Act fast if you want to save some cash!

Growth Models

I've spent ~10 years helping digital brands grow. I share what I know and what I'm experimenting with in this newsletter.

Meta ads have been brutal over the last 8 weeks or so. They've been rolling out a new algo and it's made the platform way more volatile than usual. If you spend any time on the FB Ads subreddit, you'll see the panic and fear... "Worst month for ads ever in my 12+ years of advertising" "Meta advertising is dead" "I'm going back to Google ads" Then you've got all the copium that comes with it. People talking about how Meta platforms are dying (they're not), and how they don't want to pay Zuck....

Email subscriber JP emailed me with the below question in response to an email I sent about the old method of turning cold leads into high-ticket clients being broken. Dear Peter,Sam Ovens later admitted his old way was broken. But what do you think of the model of Russ Ruffino? Is that still working today? How does it differ from your model? Thanks and God bless. I responded with this (I try to respond to all emails I receive). I’m not super familiar with Russ’s model. From a quick search it...

Yo I get asked a lot why I built GM+ and GMM as communities, instead of just selling $2k courses, running high-ticket coaching, or going all-in on an agency model. Honestly? It came down to three things… … impact… leverage… and where the world is going I’ll explain all of this in detail here - but if you wanna see what’s in both of these tiers of the community, here’s the details. Now, onto the breakdown. 1. Why I didn’t choose the agency route (and would caution you against it) I’ve scaled...
