Do what I do... not what I say

Ever see something online and suddenly doubt everything you’re doing

It usually looks like:

  • Someone saying they made a bajillion with one simple trick
  • A hot take calling your current approach “dead”
  • A quote that makes you wonder if you’re just doing it all wrong

Happens to all of us.

I used to get pulled in every direction anytime an “influencer” dropped a viral one-liner.

... One day I’d be building a funnel.
... Next day I’d be thinking I need a podcast.
... Then a high-ticket offer. Then a $7 tripwire. Then… whatever the new thing was.

Here’s what I eventually realised:

Once influencers hit a certain size, they stop playing the “helpful” game.

They start playing the “reach” game.

Which means...

  • Wild claims
  • Overly strong takes
  • Why? Because controversy and simplicity get the clicks

Case in point.

While doomscrolling the other day, I saw a big name say something to the effect of...

“If you want premium clients, don’t sell low-cost offers.”

Sounds smart.

Until you realise this same guy built his empire off a $30 book.

Look, these "guru's" aren't necessarily lying.

They’re just playing a different game now.

Their content is optimised for reach... not accuracy.

Because nuance doesn’t go viral.

Controversy does.

So if you want to grow a business?

Stop copying what they say.

Copy what they do.

The strategies behind the scenes.

The systems that actually build the trust, drive the sales, and scale the offers.

This guy says don't sell cheap stuff, but generated a huge audience though cheap stuff.

The real message - sell cheap stuff to bring people in.

Analysing what's ACTUALLY working is how I built my own system, starting with a $1 product.

Not because it’s trendy.

But because it works.

Low-ticket to high-ticket.

Buyers from day one.

A system that filters for serious people, not freebie seekers.

So next time you see a guru saying something bold?

Don’t take it at face value.

Analyse it.

Ask: what are they actually doing to grow?

Then do that.

This is why I do so many analysis swipes in GM+, so you can learn how people actually structure their marketing.

Happy to show you how it works, just hit reply.

Most people overcomplicate it. They think building a Custom GPT means messing around with APIs, coding, or some mad tech stack. But in reality? There are only three things you need to create a GPT that prints cash and saves you hours and can even be sold to bring in buyers. Those are.. A template or asset you already use (e.g. an ad, script, plan, framework) A process for how you normally use it A ChatGPT Plus account ($20/month) That’s it. If you’ve already got those first two (and most...

Most people don’t need another template. They need a shortcut. Not another PDF with 12 steps they won’t follow. A tool that does the job for them. That’s what AI agents are. They’re not content. They’re interactive assets. They replace the downloads, checklists, and PDFs that used to sit at the front of your funnel... and they actually get used. Here’s what I mean: → Instead of a “Perfect Cold Email Template”... …create an AI agent that asks 5 questions and writes the email for them (I've...

Just did a count this morning… In the last 18 months, I’ve built 44 Custom GPTs. Custom bots that handle entire jobs for me... faster, easier, and more profitably. Here are 3 I use all the time: Customer Research GPTFeed it reviews from your competitors. It pulls pain points, benefits, and tells you how to stand out. Ad Copy GPTAnswer 5 questions. Get ads in my proven formats. (My current ads get a 4% CTR, which is better than 90% of advertisers.) Sales Sequence GPTInput your offer. It writes...
