The best asset to own

I'm gonna blow your mind with some insight that's never been heard before int he world of online marketing...

The money...
... is in...
... the...
... LIST...

Ground breaking, right? And definitely something you've never heard before 😐.

Thing is, while this advice is played out, it's 100% true. And I'll prove it with some real-world stories.

Before I do - if you want to grow a better list, my mate Chris Orzechowski is doing a workshop on Monday explaining how to grow a million dollar list for your biz.

Right, let's get into some real-world stories that answer the big Qs I see people asking.

Q1. How can you make money from your list...

Loads of ways. But really, there's two main ones.

First, sell your own stuff.

Years back I worked with a guy who came home to find a leak in his roof. Turns out he needed the whole thing replaced... about 12k.

Did he panic?

Nope.

He dug up an old product, gave it a quick update, and emailed his list for two weeks. Pulled in 18k. Problem solved.

Selling your own products is hands-down the best way to monetise a list.

But if you don’t have anything to sell yet, no stress.

You’ve got attention, and attention is valuable.

If your audience shares a common goal, interest, or hobby, there are brands who’ll pay to get in front of them.

That’s where sponsorships or affiliate deals come in.

The bigger your list, the more it’s worth.

Q2. How big does your list have to be to make big money?

Smaller than you think honestly.

I know a handful of people who sell their own products and services to their list who are pulling roughly $1m / year from it.

I used to think you'd need like a million people for that.

But these people all have between 10k and 20k.

That might sound a lot, but if your TAM is a million people, it's a pathetically small segment.

In terms of selling sponsorships, I have a friend with a list of about 6k.

She launched a new sponsorship offer and, in the first 2 weeks, pulled in just over $3300.

That's $6600 / month, or roughly $80k / year.

Neither of these are particularly big in terms of list size.

The real difference depends on attracting the right people.

Q3. What other benefits does a big list bring?

A big list gives you leverage and acts as a big ol' magnet for big operators in your space.

Whether you realise it or not, there's a huge market and practice of list owners working together for mutual gain.

We're talking co-promos and affiliate agreements between list owners.

A good one can easily pull in 5 or 6-figures for both parties involved.

But, a lot of folk are a bit weird about it and don't want to work with people who have a list much smaller than their own.

When I had a tiny list, I would only be able to lock in agreements with other small list owners.

Big list owners either ignored me or would only promote me to a segment of their list that was the same size as my audience.

Fact is. the bigger your list, the better the opportunities you get, and the better the terms you can command.

Access to a bigger audience just brings you more opportunities that are likely to be generate a yearly income from one collab.

So don't sleep on bringing in more of the right folk.

I feel like I'm constantly harping on about the 3 rules of revenue growth. But, with good reason. If you wanna grow revenue, these are the only 3 things you should be focusing on. Attract more customers Increase transaction value Increase number of repeat purchases Do that, and that revenue number you keep looking at will go up. Of course, it's not as simple as knowing this is what it takes. There's systems, processes, approaches, hacks, and all that jazz you've gotta focus on. And this is...
