Stop doing this...

Yo!

For a long time I thought those “I have a list of X - DM me if you want it” approaches to list growth actually worked.

Then I tried them and realised that it’s a way to feel busy, and get some nice vanity metric engagement stat pumps… but that’s kinda it.

The constant gathering of info, organising it into spreadsheets etc, and then trying to generate social engagement was miserable.

Especially when it doesn't result in a pay day.

And I know I’m not the only one who’s seeing these things fail. I engaged with someone who was doing this recently and I asked how it was working for them.

This is the response I got.

Ouch.

Why doesn’t this work?

2 reasons.

The first is that they’re really only there to pump your social engagement stats so you LOOK LIKE you’re doing well.

Second is they attract freebie seekers who don’t necessarily feel the pain deeply enough to actually pay for a solution.

Now, whenever I see anyone running these, I really feel bad for them cause I know they’re headed for a world of headaches and frustration.

The good news is there’s a better way to grow your list with people who will help sustain your business.

I’ve been digging deep into the world of audience growth and recently been intro’d to the wonderful Adriana Tica.

She has a few fun methods to grow an audience that don’t rely on social media - in fact, you can do them without using it at all.

No more trying to game the algo.
No more begging for engagement.
No more attracting freebie seekers.

Just a systematic way to add leads to your business who are qualified and want to buy from you.

Adriana’s quickly growing following is proof that her tactics do work.

I believe her strategies can help you too.

So, I asked (and she graciously agreed) to do a workshop on her methods for growing an audience of buyers without social for us.

It’s next Friday and will outline key details and approaches to growing without social.

More details are here.

Sign up today and you could be growing your audience in a healthier way by Monday the 28th.

Speak soon,

Pete “No Social” Boyle

P.S - Even if you can’t make the time on the day, sign up and you’ll get access to the recording.

"I'm finding it's not working as well anymore... it's easier, but the results are pretty bad." This is what a FB ad specialist said to me the other day on a consulting call. What were we talking about? Free lead magnets. And this isn't the only person who's said this to me in the last few weeks. A coaching student was running ads to a free ebook. They managed to get a tonne of leads, but couldn't sell them their new product. With each week my belief in offering freebies for lead gen dies off...

Had someone reach out after yesterday's email about the idea of using FE offers to attract leads at cost (or slight profit) and build a list of buyers. They said... "Hey Pete, I'm not sure I get it. The image has you making sales at $30ish, and you said the average value of a customer is $49. How does that work with your $1 offers?" A couple of things to note here. 1, the $1 product pricing is to help validate the idea. Once you've sold some and can prove people will pay, it's about figuring...

What's the fastest way to grow your email list? I've seen growth with everything from creating content to doing partnerships with people. But let's face it. These are not the fastest way to grow. Content takes a while to spin up and to get good results. Partnerships are hit or miss. The best way to grow your list consistently? Buy subscribers. Simple as that. Here's the thing. Buying leads is a big risk. Especially if you're working on a tight budget. A lot of people use ads to drive traffic...
