That bump needs fixing

Morning and happy Monday!

First thing this AM I took a look at the stats of my super secret experiment to see if I can grow and offer in a space where I have 0 experience.

TL;DR - it's going OK, but could be better.

I'm making daily sales on this bad boy despite all the products being AI-generated.

However, I'm overall making a slight loss for everything coming through.

I'm losing about 30 cents for every dollar spent (so a 0.7 ROAS).

There's not been a tonne of people going through the offer yet, but there's enough for me to know that this ain't OK and it's unsustainable.

And until I fix it, I don't want to increase the spend drastically.

So, what's the issue?

It's pretty obvious when you look at the stats.

We're getting about a 5% CVR of cold traffic to purchasers. Which is at the low end of "acceptable" IMO.

While I'll want to improve that, it's not the primary issue.

So, we move on to check out the product stats.

From my dashboard this AM I'm getting...

  • A 16% CVR on the bump offer
  • A 0% CVR on the upsell

No prizes for guessing where the issue is.

I usually aim for...

  • 30% on Bumps
  • 15% on Upsell 1

So we're way below.

And some quick napkin math tells me that if I can even squeeze a few extra % out of these, I should be back in the clear with this campaign.

The real question is, how can you fix this?

A lot of folk will look at this and think it's a case of testing things like headlines etc.

That's a great option when you're looking to increase things a little.

But I need bigger results which means bigger changes.

And in this case, it's gonna be a rebuild of the bump offer and the upsell to increase the take rate and AoV.

I'm still using all the principles in the $1 Product System, just need to realign it a little as it's rare you get everything right on the first attempt.

Any Qs about this, hit reply and let me know.
