How $1 buyers become $5k+ clients


Saw something the other day where someone was saying webinars and $5k clients are the only way to grow your biz moving forward.

And look, both of those things are great.

  • You need high-ticket clients to be profitable
  • Webinars can be a great way to build the trust needed to sell high ticket

Thing is, the whole concept of throwing cold traffic (people who don’t know you) to a weoinar and that being enough for them to drop $5k+ with you doesn;t work anymore.

Sure, it used to work when credit was cheap and the approach was novel.

But money’s scarcer than ever now, and everyone is burnt out on “free webinar funnels”.

I switched this a few years back and started leading not with free value (as it attracts freebie seekers) but instead optimising to attract serious buyers.

How?

By filtering for intent with a $1 fee.

Now, don’t make the mistake of thinking this is where you make the money. The $1 product isn’t the business. It’s the filter.

The $1 product funnel removes timewasters, but is also built in a way to enable ad spend scale.

You then have the start of a system which…

  1. Uses a low-ticket offer to bring in buyers, not freebie seekers with immediate payback.
  2. Turn those buyers into believers by delivering a small win fast.
  3. Move them into the right ascension sequence so 5–10% of them naturally upgrade into $2k–$5k+ clients
