Why not just let AI do it?

I'm gonna start this off with a big ol' caveat.

I like AI, I use it everyday. I build AI agents to help others.

But there are some things I refuse to outsource to the various AI Petes I've built.

One of those is these daily emails.

And here's why.

First off, these things only take me about 10-15 minutes to write.

And AI honestly take sme longer.

I prompt it. it writes.

But the angle is slightly wrong.

So I re prompt it.

The angle now is closer. But the tone is wrong.

So I re prompt it.

And it's better. But. still need to go in and edit it to what I really wanna say.

By the time I'm done, I've spent 30 minutes on something that could have taken me 15.

Second, there's a huge benefit to writing out your thoughts and beliefs.

I'm genuinely worried about some of the younger generation who are entering an AI-first world.

With AI, you don't engage your critical faculties.

You just click button, copy output, and send the output.

It robs you of the process of...

... organising your thoughts.
... identifying the weaknesses.
... developing your opinions.

Those thought processes are necessary for getting better at anything.

When you're not actively thinking about what you're doing, you don't really learn anything.

You have output, but no idea what it actually means.

Third, AI is way too generic.

Your brand voice should come through in what you write.

AI is based on bajillions of language patterns, and it just picks what the next logical letter and word should be.

The result is really generic prose.

Great structure, sure. But crappy, generic sentences and paragraphs that don't inspire anyone.

I think about this a lot.

My own writing ain't exactly personality-filled. It's too analytical.

And sure, I could get AI to try and inject some (generic) personality, but it would just be the same as anyone else who uses AI.

The best marketers out there have a very distinct voice.

You can tell the best writers by the first few lines.

Their voice jumps off the page. You know who wrote it.

One of the best examples of that is Chris Orzechowski.

Read his emails, and his personality smacks you in the face. I reckon it's a huge part of why he’s built such a successful business around his list.

People buy from people, and Chris's personality shines through.

Writing one email a day has done the same for me. It’s sharpened my thinking, strengthened my voice (working on this to make it better though!), and made me more money.

Chris took that simple habit and turned it into a full system, one that’s helped him and thousands of others build lean, profitable, low-stress businesses that sell through email.

If you want to see how he does it (and how you can do it too), go check out Write Yourself Rich here.

I’m reworking a bunch of offers and ideas at the minute. And I’d love some feedback on what you’d find most valuable and useful. First though, I’m gonna explain the reasoning behind this little shift - I broke this down in detail in GM+ recently, but want to expand on it a little here. So I’m looking to create 12 offers so I can easily promote one per month to the email list. An easy cycle where, every month, we can offer something that helps people grow their biz. Also, these will double up...

I’ve lost the battle, but not the war with building custom AI Agents to create assets as products. I just can’t get it to replicate the same kind of output as the Custom GPTs. I’ve recorded a video below, but I’ll kick off with the difference in one area of one of these AI Assistants. So, for the $1 Product Strategy Advisor Custom GPT, the output for each stage is like the below… “1. Front-End Offer – $1 Title: “Client Magnet Scripts” What it solves: Freelancers struggle to start sales...

I'll be honest and say 99% of the applications of AI out there are little more than flashy demo reels which offer no real value. Yeah, it's fun to create an image of your dog dancing in a top hat, but it's not exactly useful. I've been working out how to make AI more useful for what we all do. And I've based what I've been doing all on one core psychological driver that's stronger today than it ever has been. People's impatience and need for immediate results. We are, as people, impatient. We...
